I hope you can get an appointment this morning!  It sounds like you're going through too much already and the withdrawals aren't helping you   :chin:

I'm so sorry you couldn't get an appointment yesterday and that you have to wait until Monday now!  :(  Would it be worth calling today (Friday) just in case?

Got docs tomorrow. Gonna get referred for cbt and sleep clinic. At this moment my mood is fine.

My sleep isn't so good however, I can drop off no problem but can't stay asleep so night times is very boring and long.

I'm also off my meds as couldn't get on with the mertazapine and I'm withdrawn from the ineffective citalopram.

My wife has said my snoring and choking is a lot worse so I'm sure its sleep apnoa that is preventing my sleep.

Hopefully doc agrees

I hope your doc can help you tomorrow!  How do you feel when you go to bed?  What is your routine usually like?

Hi, I turn all electrical items off at ten pm and starrt unwinding.  Go to bed at eleven , lights are off and room is cool so I chat to the wife for ten then I'm asleep. I wake up at 230 am and from then on I'm waking every ten to twenty minutes I'm not 100 percent awake so I don't get the urge to get out of bed but when I do get up at six am my brain and eyes really hurt. Its been like that for about 3 days in a row now. My mood is fine. Its so hard to explain how my brain works. From 230 am I get the same boring dream and I'm constantly turning over and over but not fully awake. Ithink I got some sort of apnea.

Do you have any pets or anything like that you could stroke when you first wake up at 2.30am?  What about having a warm, relaxing bubble bath or something like that?  Do you get any exercise to raise your heartbeat and blow away any fuzziness in your head?  How about putting a couple of drops of lavendar oil or something like that?   :happy0158:

hmmm never tried any  of that. i think the bizarre feelng i get when im asleep could be some sort of recurring nightmare even though i dont dream of anything. must be some sort of withdrawal symptom of citalopram or something

Maybe mention it to your GP to see what s/he suggests?  I swear by bubble baths and lavender oil and meditation and stuff... I also found that the less I slept the more worried I became about it.  Are you seeing a psychiatrist or psychologist or anything like that?  I'm just thinking a psychiatrist could help with the meds and the psychologist could help you to talk about things in confidence to a professional is all

How do you feel about being back on the meds?  What about the sleep apnoea?  Steve's got that so if you've got any questions about it, I can ask him if you want me to?

Did your GP give you any ideas of how to cope in those 4 weeks while you're waiting?

I'm glad you slept OK last night... I hope you get to sleep at a reasonable time tonight too!

Hi. Only thing I could do with answering is does your husband become aware he keeps waking up? I'm okay on the meds, just didn't wanna take something I know I'm gonna wanna get off further down the line. My insomnia has gone on for such a long time I m starting to not care about it. Having to wait a month to see a specialist in cbt just shows how inadequate the funds are towards mental health issues

He's aware of the waking up at the time, but when I mention it the next morning he doesn't remember it at all.  Also, he sleeps throughout the day as well as at night because he's so exhausted.  He had to have a weird test to confirm it where he had to wear a weird oxygen level monitor over just one night then the hospital took the information out of the machine, read it and diagnosed him with it.  Totally painless, just very weird he said at the time.
