OCD and motherhood
« on: August 05, 2010, 04:47:26 PM »
Hi,

I have OCD at a moderate level. I can function at work and can hide my rituals from most people. It comes and goes. Bit worse at the moment because I'm dealing with a stressful situation in my private life.

What I wanted to ask is: are there any parents of small children out there who are living with OCD?

I'm considering motherhood and one of the things that worries me is how I would deal with all the nappies etc. when my OCD centres around cleanliness and contamination.

Can anyone share any experiences of how they're coping? Has it made the OCD better or worse? Are you just surviving through the nappy years?

Thank you.

Peace and tranquility to all of us.

Ezel

It's a shame my niece isn't a member here as she has suffered with OCD and has two children.
